Mainnet Rewards Are Live: Earn mats for Onchain Action

Mainnet is here, and with it comes a new chapter of rewards.

Mezo launched in April 2024, rewarding early users with mats—points earned through deposits, Testnet activity, and community engagement. From day one, max-lock deposits to Testnet memecoin trading, early adopters built up their mats balances in anticipation of what’s next.

Now, with Mainnet live, we’ve entered a new phase. While your existing mats still count and are tracked in your Mezo wallet (pictured below), Mainnet mats are distinct from Testnet mats. Specifically, the supply of Mainnet mats are extremely limited, and as such, will be rewarded more favorably compared to Testnet mats.

This marks the beginning of a new incentive season, one that rewards the activity and onchain actions that bring Mezo to life.

What’s Happening Now

Mainnet mats kicked off with the launch of the BTC Vault on Upshift, the first and most prominent way to earn Mainnet mats. 100,000 mats are distributed daily to vault depositors based on their share of the total vault TVL.

In addition to the Upshift vault, users can earn mats through Mezo Market purchases and donations.

And this is just the beginning. New features are coming, creating more ways to use BTC and MUSD and earn mats.

What’s Coming

Over the coming weeks, Mezo will unlock a broader set of earning opportunities and features:

• Tigris, Mezo’s native decentralized exchange, for seamless swaps between MUSD, USDT, USDC, and BTC
• Ecosystem apps like Velar (perpetuals), ZeroLend (lending/borrowing), and BitFi (tokenized credit)
• Mezo Earn, where users will be able to delegate BTC to validators and help secure the network while earning rewards
