General Mezo FAQs
Mezo is a Bitcoin finance app that empowers people to live off their Bitcoin without spending it. Flagship features include Mezo Borrow and MUSD.
Mezo builds products to help bring utility to BTC without the need to spend it. You can set up a loan with Mezo Borrow to mint MUSD which can be spent for a variety of use cases.
The vision is to ultimately create and lead the Bitcoin circular economy, where MUSD can be used for larger purchases such as a home, as well as day-to-day purchases, such as groceries or your daily coffee.
If you want to finally be able to live off your Bitcoin without spending it, Mezo is the place for you. By using your Bitcoin as collateral, you can set up a credit line with Mezo Borrow benefiting from the lowest interest rates in the industry (1-5%) at a fixed rate. This allows you to access BitcoinFi, as well as everyday items that you can find in the Mezo Market.
You can connect to the Mezo App by using the following Bitcoin wallets: Unisat, OKX Wallet (Ledger not supported), Xverse.
You can also connect to the Mezo app by using the following EVM-compatible wallets: Taho, MetaMask, Zerion, OKX Wallet
Passport makes it easy for developers to integrate Bitcoin wallet support into dApps building on Mezo. Built on top of RainbowKit, it supports popular Bitcoin wallets like Unisat, Xverse, and OKX, alongside EVM-compatible wallets like Taho and MetaMask.
The package includes helper hooks for reading balances, managing wallet connections, and sending both Bitcoin and Mezo transactions. If you’ve used RainbowKit or wagmi before, setup will feel familiar. You can follow the steps in the Mezo Passport README to get started.

Mezo Mainnet FAQs: Transitioning from matsnet
If you’ve opted out of auto-bridging, then you would have to manually bridge your assets to Mezo Mainnet once they are unlocked post launch. You can do this by using the “Add Funds” button on the top right of the Mezo App.
All transactions are transparent, and the Mezo team will make sure you receive your funds safely on Mezo Mainnet.
You will be able to sign-in with your existing Mezo account.
Your Mezo ID stays the same. All new and existing users will have the chance to set their Mezo ID on Mainnet sign-in. If you’ve set your Mezo ID but wish to claim a new custom Mezo ID, you can create a new account, and go through the onboarding flow to claim it. If you are an existing user who only has an M-12345 account and wants a custom Mezo ID, you will have to go through the onboarding flow and create a new account.
In both scenarios for existing users, assets will need to be transferred across accounts.
It won’t. Testnet MUSD cannot be converted to Mainnet MUSD.
Unless you opted out, your deposits (except solvBTC.BBN, crv-stBTC, and for deposits which were used for stBTC minting) will be auto-bridged to Mainnet. You should be able to see your assets in your Mezo account on Mainnet when it goes live, but their may be a slight delay as bridging happens in batches. If you cannot see your assets, you can reach out in the helpdesk channel on our community Discord.
matsnet loans won't exist once Mainnet is launched*. But if you want to test the feature you can get a new one on Mezo Testnet. If you want to get a real loan backed by real BTC, you can do this by going through the Mezo Borrow journey on Mainnet.
*All mats spent to get loans on matsnet will be reimbursed on the snapshot date.

Yes. Mezo is moving the mats program to Mainnet. This means you will no longer receive mats rewards on matsnet (or Mezo Testnet). The Mezo team will provide updates about how to earn mats on Mainnet as more features are released. Initially, mats rewards will be granted for participation on the August x Mezo MUSD and BTC vaults, and purchases on the Mezo Market. These rewards will go live post-launch. Additional flows for earning mats will be introduced over time.
It won’t. The mats you’ve earned through matsnet are special. You can be rest assured that they will hold value once you bridge assets to Mezo to activate them.
Yes! You can expect to see a refreshed interface. This includes a leaner navigation, and new pages to view your portfolio and explore Mezo ecosystem.
As Mezo goes into Mainnet, Mezo chain will have transaction fees just like other chains you use. Mezo’s gas token is BTC.
No. There may be some down time for some features. In case something noteworthy happens, the Mezo team will make sure to communicate and keep you posted on the community Discord and through Mezo's social channels.
At launch, the Mezo native bridge will be one-way, only accepting deposits. The two-way native bridge is expected to be live ~60 days following the launch of Mezo mainnet, at which point anyone can natively bridge to and from Mezo.
Mezo accepts BTC, tBTC, cbBTC, solvBTC, and swBTC. At launch, BTC is the only collateral available to mint MUSD against.
cbBTC, solvBTC, swBTC can not be used as collateral for Mezo Borrow, but will be able to be used with other features such as third party LPs.
Mezo Mainnet FAQs: mats on Mainnet
You can opt-in to auto-bridging your Mainnet deposits or, if you’ve opted out of auto-bridging, you can use the “Add Funds” button on the top right of the to bridge funds to Mezo.
Yes, it was on May 25th, 2025.
It takes approximately 5 minutes to bridge funds to Mezo Mainnet using "Add Funds". It may take longer for BTC deposits.
Yes, mats earned pre-Mainnet launch are activated upon Mainnet deposit. There are no activation limits, whether you bridge 1 USDC or 1 BTC all earned mats will be activated.
That is up to you. There are no restrictions or thresholds for mats activation. You just have to bridge once, and any amount. But keep the bridge bonus in mind! The more you bridge, more mats you’ll earn from the bridge bonus.
Keep in mind that mats on matsnet will not have any value after Mainnet launch.
No. Any mats earned pre-Mainnet are considered equal.

You can find your mats in the Overview Page and next to your profile image on the Passport interface accessed by clicking your profile image at the top right corner.
Inactive mats are mats earned pre-Mainnet and that have not been activated on Mainnet by making a bridge deposit via the “Add Funds” button on the top right of the Mezo App.
You will receive a mats bonus based on the amount of USD value you bridge to Mainnet. You will have to bridge more than $500 worth of assets to be eligible for the bridge bonus.
Bridge bonuses will be calculated on the 30th of June and will take into account the USD value of total assets bridged, on the date of calculation.
It will be reflected in your total amount of mats on the Rewards page.

As Mezo is moving the mats program to Mainnet, the team are running a reconciliation to cover for mats converted to sats. However, you will not receive additional mats for sats.

It will be calculated based on the amount of USD value of assets you’ve bridged over per wallet.
No, the bonus won’t be reflected separately. You will see your mats as a total on the Overview page, and later in the Leaderboard on the Rewards page.

If you have a deposit which is not bridgeable because the token is currently not supported by Mezo, it is recommended you withdraw the token to its native network. If you want to use the funds on Mezo, and therefore also bridge your mats, it is possible to swap your original funds to an asset that is available on Mezo and then bridge it to Mezo using the "Add funds" button.
Mezo Mainnet FAQs: Mezo matsnet, Mainnet and Testnet
matsnet will cease to exist once Mezo Mainnet goes live. Instead, Mezo has launched Mezo Testnet, which is a close copy of Mainnet. The native Mezo experience on Testnet is similar to Mainnet. The biggest difference is that Mezo Testnet is for testing and therefore, not used with actual funds, whereas Mainnet will require actual funds.
matsnet will transition to become the Mezo Testnet.
Mezo won’t be resetting matsnet so all transactions you’ve made on matsnet will be observable through the Testnet explorer. From the time you deposit into Mainnet, all your transactions on Mezo Mainnet will be observable through the Mezo Explorer.
Swag bought on matsnet were part of the test experience. Unfortunately, Mezo is not planning to ship these at this moment in time. You can check out the Mezo Market in the Mezo App for the latest purchases you can really make with MUSD.
You will be able to find Mezo Testnet at testnet.mezo.org
No it will not be locked for the entire lock-up period. If you stay opted-in for auto-bridge your funds will be bridged to Mezo Mainnet and become available for use. If you’ve opted out of auto-bridge, your deposits will unlock 30 days after Mainnet launch. Should you want to manually bridge these funds to be eligible for early deposit mat bonus. You can do this by using the “Add Funds” button on the top right of the Mezo App.
Note: You will not keep earning mats through deposits after Mainnet launch as the deposit contract will be unavailable.
$1800 is the minimum amount that can be borrowed. There is an additional 200 MUSD refundable gas compensation set aside + 0.1% mint fee that is additional debt added to the loan.
No. matsnet BTC/sats were given from a testnet faucet. They do not have any real backing or value and they will not be transfered to Mainnet.

MUSD FAQs
If you’re a borrower, you simply pay back the MUSD you borrowed plus any accrued interest, and your BTC collateral will be released to you—borrowers pay no redemption fee when repaying their loan.
For anyone holding MUSD that is not a borrower, you can redeem MUSD directly through the protocol at a rate of 1 MUSD per $1 worth of BTC, but a redemption fee applies to those redemptions.
When MUSD is redeemed, the protocol targets the active loan with the lowest collateral ratio. For each $1 worth of BTC redeemed, $1 of debt is cancelled from that loan, and the borrower of that loan loses exposure to the corresponding BTC.
If your loan has been redeemed against you are able to use your MUSD to redeem against the lowest collateralized loan.
APR (Annual Percentage Rate) is the yearly interest rate on MUSD loans.
* The introductory interest rate is 1% and remains fixed for the loan's lifetime.
* Governance may adjust future rates to align with market conditions, but this will only affect new loans and will not impact existing loans’ rates.
There are four main types of fees:
- Issuance Fee: 0.1% of borrowed MUSD (paid in MUSD).
- Redemption Fee: 0.75% when exchanging MUSD for BTC (paid in BTC).
- Refinance Fee: 0.02% of the total refinanced MUSD amount (paid in MUSD). This fee is incurred when a MUSD loan holder wants to either; change to the current rate, extend their line of credit or reduces the amount of collateral backing their loan.
- Gas Deposit: 200 MUSD deposit that is used to ensure liquidations are viable, this is returned when your loan is closed.
MUSD can be used to make donations and purchase items in the Mezo Market, including Bitrefill gift cards for real-world spending and Ledger hardware wallet devices. As adoption grows, additional integrations and real-world use cases will become available.
Mezo’s MUSD is 100% backed by BTC. For every MUSD in circulation, an equivalent amount of BTC is held by smart contracts. The system is designed to maintain a 1:1 value with the US dollar, enabling MUSD to be minted by depositing BTC as collateral. All reserves are verifiable on chain.
